One of the outcomes of the NDIS trial period has been the increased focus on community participation as a primary goal for many participants.

As a result, we are seeing a greater emphasis on clients wishing to develop life skills, access employment opportunities and enjoy greater independence – demonstrating the importance of inclusion and participation within our communities to achieving an “ordinary life”.

Personal capacity building involves building the skills, resources and confidence needed to participate in the community or access the same kind of opportunities or services as other people. Equally important, community capacity building facilitates greater participation by ensuring mainstream services and community organisations become more inclusive.

We create social inclusion opportunities through a wide range of community support groups, workshops and other vital services. We deliver practical and innovative solutions and support services, and advocate for community participation – assisting clients to understand and realise opportunities available to them within their communities.
