Domestic and family violence (DFV) knows no boundaries. Significantly, this is not a socio-economic problem – DFV can be initiated by, and impacts upon, people from all walks of life, affecting people of all sexualities, religion, the young and elderly, and people with disabilities.
Often people experiencing domestic and family violence are forced to flee from their home out of fear for their physical and mental wellbeing and that of their children. Our specialist staff work with clients experiencing trauma caused by domestic and family violence to tailor appropriate supports in a safe environment – linking them with police, counselling, court advocacy services, victims financial supports, family law and legal aid.

Child protection services staff work with children experiencing challenges including domestic and family violence. Young children may be at risk due to inadequate or challenging parenting – for example, parent experiencing mental health issues or other complex medical or behavioural issues. Through an innovative approach, we have developed early intervention programs to assist and support parents, while protecting the child’s safety and wellbeing.
