What’s the difference between plan management and support coordination?

Plan management is the management of funds allocated to you under the NDIS, ie your NDIS budget.

Support Coordination is the implementation of your NDIS plan. Support coordinators work creatively and resourcefully with you to ensure that your budget is optimised and that you are receiving all the supports you need to achieve your goals. They will work closely with your plan manager to ensure that you do not exceed your allocated NDIS funding (budget).

Is it true that unused funds in my plan return to the NDIA?

Yes. Usually this occurs as your support needs decrease and you increase capacity for independence. If you find you are not utilising funds and wish to adjust the kind of supports and services you use, your Support Coordinator or Plan manager can advise you and schedule a plan review to update your requirements.
